Ocular SKin Care

EyeSpa Esthetics

The skin around your eyes is more delicate than the rest of your skin. Your skincare routine should support the health of your skin without doing damage to your eyes. Many patients invest in their appearance and feel that the laxity in their skin and eyelid posture has let them down and that they have aged the most around the eyes. However, with the proper skincare routine and preventative treatments, you can preserve your appearance and the health of your eyes.

At EyeSpa, safely and naturally restoring the integrity of your skin is a priority. If you want to age gracefully, confidently, and avoid surgical interventions and dangerous injections, talk to your EyeSpa esthetician about the best options for your skin type.

Pellevé®

Pellevé® uses radio frequency energy to gently heat the delicate layers of your skin around your eyes. The warmth and pulsation encourages the production of collagen and allows the delicate skin to tighten.

Exfoliation

The power of exfoliation cannot be understated. By gently sloughing off the dead skin cells, you can improve skin texture and tone, unclog your pores, help your skincare products absorb into your skin better, and encourages collagen production. We offer BlephEx® and facials to give you the best in eyelid and facial exfoliation.

Eyelid Care

The root cause of 86% of ocular surface diseases rests in the integrity of the eyelid margins. The presence of biofilm, bacteria, and other factors that can harm the eyes needs to be removed. The margin of the eyelid is the only surface on the body that we don’t routinely cleanse, meaning that it is the prime location for biofilm buildup and inflammation factors to take root. We offer self-care eyelid wipes for daily care and a clinical micro-exfoliating treatment to remove the buildup from your lid margins, supporting your overall eye health and preventing silent, chronic eyelid disease.

Facials

Facials give your face the beautiful glow you want in a way that protects the health and integrity of your skin and eye health. Talk to your EyeSpa esthetician about what kind of facial is best for you!

While exfoliation is great for your skin, you should only exfoliate once or twice per week. Reserve your preference of 45, 60, or 90 minute sessions with your EyeSpa esthetician to customize your skin care to meet your goals. Be sure to talk to your EyeSpa esthetician if you have questions about exfoliation and skincare products.

Top Skincare Tips

  • Always apply an eye cream at night. The skin around the eye is the most delicate on the body and requires a different form of treatment.

  • Never apply creams or lotions too closely to the eyes—never apply it on the eyelids or under the eyelashes on your bottom lid. You should use your ring finger to gently dab an eye cream around the orbital bone.

  • Exfoliate up to three times a week to promote new skin rejuvenation.

  • Apply a toner twice daily to balance pH levels on the skin.

Choosing the Right Skincare Products

When it comes to skincare, there are three things you need to always include: hydration, exfoliation, and sun protection. We endorse Beautycounter®IMAGE Skincare, and Aveda™ Skincare. One of your EyeSpa estheticians will examine your skin and recommend a skincare regimen that supports healthy skin and eye health, particularly for the delicate skin around your eyes.

Hydration

When it comes to moisturizers, you should always reach for something that provides hydration. Pay attention to the type of skin that you have. If you have naturally oily skin, you may want a lighter moisturizer, and if you have dry skin, you may want a heavier cream. To learn which products are the best for you, talk to your EyeSpa esthetician.

It is also important to remember that your hydration substantially impacts your overall health in ways that you might not suspect, like, for instance, your skin and eye health. Not only should you look for skincare products with hydrating ingredients, but you yourself should always remember to stay hydrated. Before any EyeSpa service, you should drink 8 oz of water hourly for whole body and skin wellness. Being hydrated prior to any of your treatments helps ensure the best outcomes.

Sun Protection

Sun protection is the most important part of any skincare routine. Always make sure that you wear a moisturizer that is broad-spectrum 60 SPF or higher. Talk to your EyeSpa esthetician and our eyewear styilists about the right sun protection for your skin and your eyes.

Not only will the appropriate sun protection help you avoid cancer and long-term vision damage, it reduces wrinkles, crow’s feet, and squinting lines. You can never go wrong when protecting your skin and eyes from sun exposure—always grab your sunscreen and your sunglasses.
